Title: No Obligation
Format: Apple Music
Artist: The Linda Lindas
Copyright Year: 2024
Label: Epitaph
Quality of the Media: I listened to this (numerous times, because I love this album) on Apple Music, but I do not have it on vinyl so the quality is only as good as a streaming service can get. But the music sounds great!
Opinion: The Linda Lindas released their first album, Growing Up, when they were in high school – Bela, the oldest member at the time, was 18 years old, and Mila, the youngest member at the time, was 12 years old. That album rocked! But two years later they have released their sophomore album, No Obligation, and they have arrived! They are no longer just a viral high school girl band that appeared on Jimmy Kimmel for recording a video in the Los Angeles Public Library. They have released an album that actually rocks! An album that I would have listened to when I was their age. Actually, I am listening to this album now and I love it! “All In My Head” sounds a bit like Foo Fighters, and it is great! “Too Many Things” might be my favorite song on the album. “Resolution/Revolution” and “Excuse Me” are incredible as well. These young ladies can rock, and you should give them a listen!
Library Program: I would ask the teens to choose one song on their phones (and keep it clean people!) and we would go around the circle and listen to their song, then discuss what they like about the band, how we can learn more about them, etc.
